incomplete and defectuous copy
The Harvard Library copy of this book from which the file has been produced, is incomplete and defectuous. Incomplete because it comprises only the first part of the first volume of the work, up to nr. 392 and year 1199. The second part of the first volume, nr. 393-995 and years 1200-1299 are lacking, as does the whole volume II (from nr. 996 and year 1300 onwards). Furthermore, the binding order of the Harvard copy has been uprooted, page 172 (nr. 303) being followed by page 196 (nr. 358), from where the pages number in reverse order to p. 173 (nr. 304) followed by page 197 (nr. 358) and from there in correct order to the end of the first part of volume I. Files of complete and orderly copies of both volumes are available on archive.org. I venture to suggest that this incomplete and defectuous file will be retired and destroyed.
